Rough River - Back to the drawing board

Last year during this time I was able to go out and be successful in landing a few slabs. This year, a bust! I realizie that the water levels are much different as we never reached summerpool last year. However, this year, its been tough for me. Any ideas?

Wish I could lend you insight but Rough river has been driving me crazy the last 4 years. It is the closest and most familiar to me but I can fish there 2 days in a row with stable conditions and have completely different outcomes. IDK?I can usually find some fish and catch a few but sometimes I have to resort to Bluegill or hybrids to stay awake out there! I found better Crappie fishing down around Peter cave than on the northern end of the lake. May just start fishing there as a rule based on my luck so far. Still
