I live near Nolin(about 150 miles), but I would drive down ther to learn something. Two or ten heads are better than one partially empty head(mine).

Doug (mrdux) has graciously offered his taxidermy shop in Benton as a meeting place to hold a sonar seminar...(and I don't like the word seminar because we can all learn from each other)...
It seems that Doug's bird chasing duties are going to keep him tied up until the end of Feb....
This gives us some time to discuss some of the ideas from you guys of what you would like see or discuss at this gathering....
Some examples of discussion could be...:
*SONAR basic understanding....
*The Sonar "ping" and how it's plotted onto the display....
*SONAR beam shapes and/or frequencies and their use in your fishing tactics...
*SI/DI image interpretation...
*HB unit settings...
*HB snapshots and recordings...
*HB PC (and unit) waypoint management...
*Humviewer...
*HB file management on your pc...
Most of my input will be toward the HB product (because that's what I have experience with)...but a lot of the info that can be discussed relates to sonar in general that could be applied toward any brand....
The only restriction (in this thread and at the gathering) is Lowrance vs Humminbird debates will not be tolerated...period.... There will be enough very large folks at the gathering to physically remove any tension from the discussion....
This is an opportunity for us all to learn from each other how to use these high dollar investments to help us catch fish...
Give me your ideas guys...

I really interested in tweeking my SI & DI units to get the best images possible.
I know there are some tricks that I can learn to help manage my waypoints better. I am particularly interested in figuring out a way to identify duplicates & delete them to free up more room. I'm bout full.

anything I learn would probably better than what I know, which is not much, but would like SI/DI image interpretation HB snapshots and recording and managing files on my PC.

I have a projector that connects to a laptop. If you have a Utube, slides or movie, I can show it. I will be in the area March 1st until May 31st. When is the date?
From Steve Wunderele - 10-2-84 --"A fishing trip maybe brief, but it's memories are endless."
Thanks for the offer of the projector chuck...we'll keep that in mind..
The date is kinda tentative right now as Doug is outfitting for snow geese in Mo. thru February...
We're looking somewhere around 1st week or so of March...
We also have Whisker's place at Big Bear campground as offered for a gathering but I think that is also sometime in March...

Let me know and I will be there. Sounds interesting and sounds like a good learning opportunity.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
I would like to be there also
Let me know the date
Maybe we could pitch in on some money for sandwich stuff or something
