Temp at Hancock this a.m. was 47.66 www.murraystate.edu/qacd/cos/hbs/WQ.cfm

Wind was WNW today at what they said was 10 to 15, but there were some gusts that felt like 30+, and it was a COLD wind! Low of 28 tonight.

My wife says I should do more wondering and less wandering Just for you info: I looked at Hancock this a.m. and discovered that the info there is from the 11th. The Explore Kentucky Lake page has all the info on it, but I've been using Hancock for a long time because their info was normally the most recent. The Explore Kentucky water and weather page is: www.explorekentuckylake.com/weather.htm

    Hope this helps

I never pay much attention to both of them seems it not close to what i find when i get down there....water temp always seems to be different compared to my graphs.

Remember, too, that these "reported" water temps may be taken a long way from where YOU end up going on those lakes. Also worthy of consideration ... the North shoreline water will warm more & faster than the South shoreline water (due to Sun angle & the amount of time it's on that shoreline).

IMHO ... there is no "magic" water temp that sets off activity in fish. It's more of a range & trend deal. So, even if your temp gauge is off kilter ... you're still looking for the 'warmest' water in an area, rather than a magical specific temp. You're looking for a warming trend, this time of year, and that only occurs when the weather trend is mostly sunny & the daily highs/lows average out in an upward temp movement.

    ... cp

Explore Kentucky Lake gets their data directly from what Hancock has currently published and just rounds up or down to make it an even number.

I've been checking the temperature at Hancock all week but they haven't updated it since Tuesday at 9:15. It's been 47.66 all week. I guess there is something wrong with their system.
