Default Really lLooking forward to visiting Kentucky Lake next week

This will be our second annual trip to Kentucky lake. My boys (23 and 20) will be with me and we come at this time because this is the younger ones week off school. We all just took up fishing in earnest last summer when we got a boat and i have been a member on the site for close to a year now. We will be staying at Shawnee bay (2nd year there) and I would really like the boys to see what crappie fishing can look like (we have a steep learning curve to overcome). We normally are one pole folks (live in Illinois). I fish minnows and bobbers and they throw almost anything they can tie a line to. We have an 18 foot aluminum boat so we don't plan on wandering to far. Any fishing or places to eat (been to patti's) etc. suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and tight lines

Try the Dinner Bell in Aurora, thats my favorite. We've been going to Shawnee Bay for over 10 years, its a nice place, We'll be down at the end of the month. It's a nice sized bay so you don't have to go far. Talk to John, He'll help get you started. Have a great trip, save some for us.

The Dinner Bell is open only on Thursday thru Sunday each week but it is OUTSTANDING country cookin'. You won't leave there hungry! If you guys want to go fancy while you're there, try the Brass Lantern .. also in Aurora. Marshall County is dry (as a bone) but you can take a bottle or two of wine with you to the Brass Lantern, and for a small corking fee, you can enjoy it with your dinner. Good steaks and prime rib.

    Good luck

    Pat-

We are heading down next week (Friday) March 15th and will be there until Tuesday morning. We are also staying at Shawnee Bay. We are staying in the Lodge, there are about 9 of us heading that way. We've been going for the last 7-8 years or so. Let me know if we can be of some help.
