    Default Herrington Lake

Sorry about that, I should have included it in the same message.
Has anyone been on Herrington this fall? If so, how is the bite?

Herrington has some decent crappie in it. The biggest problem is locating them.
The lake is deep and relatively clear. Don't expect big numbers!

    Yep.

As noted above, Herrington is not the easiest lake to fish, but there good crappie in there. I haven't fished it in several years, though.

Size: 83.7 KBI have seen good numbers at Herrington this year so far but havent been in a couple weeks. Last trip we had about 50 fish give or take. There is no size limit on the lake but we have seen good abundance of 15 inch plus fish, whites and blacks. i live on Herrington and would put the lake above any other lake around as far as quality fish go, we have caught numerous 2 lb. fish this year. DONT TRY TO SPIDER RIG, ITS NOT LIKE Green River, u get hung up and you just spooked all the fish. Regardless of what people think it may be a different color water but its pretty dang clear. I recomend casting a jig or minnow fishing with a slip float around any type of cover, trees, rock slides, stick ups,and docks.... Most of the fish we have been catching have been on the main lake in cuts in the bank with cover in them fishing about 10 - 15 foot deep and toward the evening coming from 5 - 15 foot deep.

... If I told you how many Crappie I've caught from Herrington, and the size of some of them
.... you'd probably want to hurt me

I will tell you this : IF you EVER find a large Sycamore tree hanging off a rock cliff & there's more than 10ft of it down in the water ... put a lock & chain on it, post a armed guard at it .... and CALL ME

    ... cp
