I'm headed down to barkley oct.21-28 to fish for crappie. We have been there several times in the spring but never in the fall. I'm guestimating the water temp will be around 62-65 by then. We prefer throwing jigs if possible. I'm thinking we should be able to get them shallow at the time. Any info or tips will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
Find the shad and you will find the crappie. As the water cools, the shad move into the bays and the game fish follow them. Spring vs. fall difference is that fall is more of a crap shoot IMO. You may find the fish for a while, think you've got a good spot, and not catch another fish there for days.
Pretty time of the year to be on the lakes!
