    Thumbs up Green 5/12/12

Got down late this morning. Started at about 9:00 am and had a limit by 12:30pm. Decided to try some new
areas. While fishing culled out a few of the ones that looked like they were ready to bust. Had 6 that was
13" and several 11-12". Caught most in 10fow, 6ft deep except the ones i culled out. They came from 38fow, 14-18ft deep. Using minnows and jig/minnow. Water temp was 74 and about a ft or so above summer pool. Caught a ton of small ones. Dont know how many but used 300 minnows with only 7 left when i stopped fishing at 3:30pm. While cleaning, several still had eggs that were not ready and a few that was. Only had one that the egg sack was turning white. Talked to several people who also caught a bunch of littluns. They next couple of years should be good.

You should not CULL - If the fish is full of eggs and you feel the right thing to do is CULL then why not just CPR right away !
You put stress on those fish by keeping them in a live well and they may just die anyway. JMO

I agree. You should not cull if you do not know how to do it properly. Keeping them in your live well is not the only stress you put on them. Just catching them puts some stress on them. When you pull them up thru the water their air bladder inflates this is why some of them lay on their side as soon as you drop them in the live well. Then its time for surgery to deflate the air bag.

Try tipping your jig with a minnow. When you go to Green Thursday, if you have any, try you some Bobby Garland baby shad and some Jiffy Jigs . I am going to try and go myself if i
can. Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday. Depends alot on how work gos this week. Good luck Paul.
