If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
Sounds like you had fun and good catch. Now I have a question on the redear, I am pretty sure I know answer but would like some of you guys from kentucky to tell me If I am right. On kentucky lake there is no size limit on redear correct. from what I have read thats what i understand. But I have a buddy of mine tell me when he was just down there someone told him there was a 10" size limit. But I told him what i see there's no limit hope somebody can tell if I am correct. thanks and good fishing to all you.
These seem to be the only special conditions at ky and barkley lakes and according to the ky fishing guide the redear sunfish has no size limit, only a 20 creel limit
BARKLEY, KENTUCKY LAKES
(and their connecting canal)
• Crappie: 10-inch minimum size limit,
20 fish daily creel limit.
• Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:
15-inch minimum size limit.
• Sauger: 14-inch minimum size limit.
HLL is correct !! .... Redear were designated a "Sport Fish", a few years back, and they put a 20/day creel limit on them, but no size limit restrictions. Greenbo Lake has a 15/day creel limit on Bluegill & other Sunfish ... but, there's no size restrictions on Sunfishes anywhere in KY. With Redear being designated as a "Sport Fish" ... it's no longer considered legal to use as bait, unless it's less than 6" long.
