I use BPS ones and love them. I have a small rod box and can fit a lot of rods in there.

I have never used socks or sleeves so i am not sure how they would do. But what i use, my rods never get tangled. I have had as many as 18 rods in my box with no problems. I just break down my rods and slip one over each end. When i put them together to use i just slip both of them over the bottom of the handle and push them all the way up to the reel. Fish all day with them on the rod. Easy to do and dont cost but a few bucks. They last for several years.

Not a bad idea. I use sleeves I got from Bass Pro. One is mesh and the other is cloth. Easy to put on and they help keep rods from banging into each other. Even better, they help keep lures that get loose from tangling up. I've had more than a few trips messed up by having to cut or untangle lines as soon as I got to the lake.
