Angry eBay Humminbird Scam! Be warned!

Watch out for deals on the high end Humminbirds on eBay. I got my butt burned to the tune of $1847 for a "New Humminbird 1198."

The sorry +$@#* sent me an 8"X5" empty Manila envelope & marked it with 4 pound postage. I've been trying to get my money back since the 20th of last month! Bought it on 4/11. He didn't get the money, but PayPal & eBay want me to jump thru hoops to get MY money back!

Stay away of any auctions from anyone with only a few transactions & only a day or two on the auction time. The item will also have no reserve.

Wiskers, thanks for the heads up. Given this economy there are so many scams from scret shoppers, wire money via western union, to bad people selling a deal on ebay and other sites. Good luck getting your money back!

I'll eventually get my money back but I'd let them keep the money if I could just get my hands on the person that ripped me off. It would be worth every penny for me to get to show that person what we do to crooks where I'm from. All I need is some rope & a Hog Lot. I'd make pig poop outta him in a couple of days.

That sucks. You will get your money back but you have to go thru the process. It will be worth it in the end seeing the type of money you were out.

Isn't sad that crooks can scam us and we do not have the ability to track them down. The resaon Ebay won't help is because of the liability if they allow information on the scammers. They can use fictious names and email accounts.

At least you got the money stopped. Some of these guys are in countries like Nigeria. They figure if they can scam 50 people and they are successful in getting money from 10, they make a good profit at our expense.

See it daily in my line of work. From fraudulent postal money orders or cashiers checks to posing as someone else on Facebook. The Nigeria scams drive me nuts.....really nothing law enforcement can do about it. It's a giant black hole!!!! I always go back to trusting your sixth sense and if it's to good to be true, it's to good to be true.

Trouble is,with Terry's deal, it was disguised pretty well. be glad when you get your money back buddy and hate like heck that it happened to you.
