    Default Green - 3/7/12

Fought the wind today, caught around 50 with 14 keepers in about 5 hours of fishing. Fished above Holmes Bend. 12 - 14 ft deep in 17 - 19 ft of water. Water temp was 48.1 when we left around 4:30.

Thanks for the report, I would have been worn out fighting the wind we had yesterday. How was the water color? It will change along with the lake coming up with all the rain that is forecasted the next 2 days.

Water was muddy from Holmes up to within a 1/8 mile of the 551 bridge. From there on up, water was slightly stained. The wind dictated where we fished.

t.slabseeker, nothing like you can get on em! Still learning, but love the lake so far.

Good job on a tough day of fishing-those gusty winds make boat control a pain in the rear on that lake. I am respooling the reels tonight and getting ready to head out at first light in the morning from Ramp One.

Only 8 keepers and MAYBE 15 fish total today. The weather was absolutely beautiful but that last bunch of rain really muddied up the lake from about Butler Creek up past Holmes. I found the fish just downriver from the bridge but decided to move back onto the main lake to try some different stuff and only caught one fish. I gave my new Terrova a workout today playing with the iPilot and I will never have another trolling motor again, just set it and forget it. I'd say that with the good looking forecast that if a guy would get above the bridge in say 10 FOW or so with some minnows that you could do really well if the sun comes out.

Good deal, thanks for the report. I hope to make it back next week if I can get a day off work.

Good report Dutch. I suspected you would see muddy water with all the rain and probably the lake is still rising. Looking downstream on the Green, they are to be out of flood stage by Monday so the COE will probably start pulling the lake then. This will help to clear the water above the bridge but may put more current in that area. Holmes toward Ramp 1 will get muddier. But given next week temps I will probably go Tues or Wed and fish that area.
Glad you liked the new TM. I have a Powerdrive on mine and love it. Just every once in a while wipe the shaft off and spray on some Armour All to keep it moving freely when deploying and stowing.
