Default Green River Lake Crappie info.

I'm interested in fishing for Crappie on Green River this spring, in paticuliar Holmes Bend area and Casey Creek, could any one tell me the best times to fish for Crappie in the Spring pre-spawn, spawn, and post-spawn, and places for each. I live in Eastern, KY. and have been driving to Weiss Lake for years and have always heard how good the fishing was on Green River, any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Shooter ... you probably won't find too many docks to shoot at Green, but jigs & Roadrunners have served me well when I've fished there in Spring. Casting the banks or slow trolling them used to work good for me. Of course, dragging a minner around is always a method worth trying. It's all weather, water conditions/levels, and temps related ... as to when things start heating up on Green.
Keep an eye on this forum, as we're likely to be having another "Slabfeast" on Green ... sometime in April ... and it's generally held at Holmes Bend. We'll start discussing it before long. It's not a tournament ... more of a meet & greet, go fish, clean'em, cook'em & eat'em kind of a deal.

    Welcome to Crappie.com !!

Dock Shooter if you put in at HB go to the right up the lake towards Casey ck and the river. There is alot of cover to fish up that way. I am down there most every weekend look me up I will be in a green Crappie Master. Crappiepappy I'm in on the the slabfeast.

I'm in on the Slab Fest too. I just need some advance warning so I can get off of work that weekend.

thanks t.slabseeker really appreciate the info. I am most definitely going to visit this lake this spring. Where is the closest hotel to Holmes Bend Marina, Russell Springs, Columbia, Cambellsville , I've been to Holmes Bend before, but was with a friend and he was driving, should have paid more attention. I really look forward to meeting you out on the lake my new friend, will look for your boat, and I plan on attending the slabfeast, take care and good fishing.
