Cool Very mild Temperatures this Winter in Kentucky

I am really enjoying the mild weather here in West Kentucky again this Winter.

It's nice to have temperatures in the 50's and 60's in January.

I have fished more this winter than ever before. I can't complain about it.

certainly better than last winter. I was so desparate to go a couple times that I was out idling thru thin ice on Green to find open water to fish

I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, before I moved to Murray, Kentucky.

The Kentucky Lake Dam is only about 25 miles from Illinois.

Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio play a big part in Kentucky. Many KY residents work in Indiana, likewise, many Indiana residents work in Kentucky.

So IMO Kentucky is kind of a midwest state. Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio border Kentucky.

And many parts of Kentucky are farther north, than parts of local midwest states.

About Half of the state of Kentucky is actually farther north than southern Illinois

A big part of Kentucky is farther north than many parts of southern Indiana.

You forgot one thing, "Kentucky Lake" .... Tennessee has a greater border mileage than any other bordering state.

Louisville may be considered a "mid-western" town, idealogically ... but, most of the rest of the state & towns/cities are relatively "southern", idealogically.

I live just across the river from Louisville and I LOVE the warm winter we're having thus far. Today's going to be mid 50's, close to 60 degrees..who'd have thought in January? I despise getting up twenty minutes early to just go out and warm the car up when it's 20 degrees outside...I don't miss that crap at all.

We'll be damn lucky to make it through the winter with out a visit from the Old Man though, I'll bet in a few weeks the bottom drops out on us. I just hope it's not a cold spring, gotta funny feeling it could be.
