Put out a brushpile and then started fishing about daybreak. Water pretty stained, but was a nice day to fish. Wound up keeping these 17 and thru 4 more back that were 14"+. Friend of mine was up there in the same area and wound up with a limit in the cooler.

Good job pab, Looks like alot of whites. I also let 3 14"+ fish go, one of which was 2lb 4oz SLAB. I kept up with short fish on my mr. Crappie fish counter and had 87. Should be REAL good for several years. I met ifish and you are right, A REAL NICE GUY. He said you were gonna get mad by me fishing your beds. I told him I was your boss, now he understands. GREAT JOB
Ifish(Buddy) is a super nice guy, glad to have met him. He gave me some jigs yesterday to try with my Bobby Garlands that I hope I get to use soon that should make the jig bodies last longer.
Fishing is gonna be great for years to come on Kentucky Lake, I'm really excited.
Good job on the big one, I hope I catch it when it grows up to 3lbs.
Nice catch. Congrats.Thumbs Up
I went to Ky Lake on 12/2 to try out my new Terrova Ipilot trolling motor. After putting the motor through the motions for a while, I ended up spiderrigging for crappie for a couple of hours. Caught 23 crappie total, with 14 really good fish and 9 fish just less than 10 in. The big fish were stuffed with shad. I caught them 22 ft deep in 24-25 FOW on jigs tipped with minnows and plain minnows. Also caught 4 bass with the largest going about 4 lbs (all on minnows) and one nice sauger on a jig/minnow combination. All indications are for a banner crappie year on Ky Lake for 2012.
By the way, I really like the new Terrova...and think it will be great for spiderrigging like I do much of the time. Of course, there are certain situations where precise boat control is needed that a cable foot control would no doubt work better, but overall....I'm very pleased.
