Thinking about fishing Linville Friday. Just wanted to know if anybody has laid eyes on it lately.

Rofl .... Kygofish ... the fact that you caught ANY keepers from Linville is reason enough for me to say ... congrats Thumbs Up

I knew there were Crappie in the lake, but rarely (if ever) heard about anyone catching them. I've Bass fished it several times, decades ago, but rarely ever fished more than the banks at the dam & along the road. Ran into a Father/Son Crappie fishing it, one night, but they weren't having any better luck with the Crappie than we were with the Bass Doh
I always assumed that, with it having Crappie in it & being under-fished, that the Crappie were likely to be mostly on the small side. Guess that's what I get for "assuming" ... LOL !!

If you don't mind telling ... how did you fish, what part of the lake did you fish, etc. (& if you don't want the whole world to know, but don't mind telling me ... PM me)

    ... cp

Crappiepappy and kyrick for the past couple of years we have caught keeper crappie out of linville. Years ago the crappie were small but now there are some decent fish. We seen several boats spider rigging. We fished the deep brush that had fell in the lake on the steep banks. All of the fish came off one tree in 30 fow. We fished other trees but with no luck. The only way to catch them was to vertical jig down in the middle of the tree about 20 ft. If there is any wind it's hard to fish. The biggest crappie I caught would not fit down in the ez checker. I just wanted to check the length of the fish before I released them. The biggest fish was a little over 12. Linville can be good and it can be bad but you just don't know till you go.
