I can't help you on Rough but they are still biting on the KY. Lake and Barkley. I caught this mess of 20 Thursday afternoon. The corp. has been lowering the water roughly .70 - 1' per day up until this weekend. The fish have definitely moved since last week but considering the fact that the water has dropped out over 3.5' since Monday the bite is still fairly decent. Name: 12-15-11.jpg

Conventional wisdom says that dropping water will pull fish away from the shoreline & put them out on the closest drop (during warm water times) ... and probably put them out over or in the channel (during cool water times).

I wouldn't, however, overlook any cliff wall areas ... as Fall/Winter transition fish will migrate along these cliff walls. If the current is perceptable to the fish, they may seek current breaks .. such as channel walls, deep brush/trees, bridge pillings, etc. They could also be suspended, seeking warmth from the Sun (or following Shad schools doing the same) by staying just deep enough to catch some of the warming rays, or in water depths that are warmer than the channel depths ... but, would likely be out over deep water.
