Cave Run 9-24-11

Caught a few at Cave Run yesterday. Pitching jigs and minnows on brush in 10 to 15 fow. We had 11 nice keepers threw back a lot of 9.5s. Surface temp was 68 at daylight. Skies cleared and killed the bite.

Nice mess GoFish! I was there yesterday morning kinda struggled at first fish had moved off lots of the spots we were catthing them before. Around 12 or 1 found some fish on brush on the main lake in about 15 -20 foot of water and ended up catching about 40-50 on minnows over the brush kept nice mess for friends father. Were you up the river again I see those white crappie, we were catching blacks but not as nice as those whites you have. Was great weather yesterday wasnt it!

Yes we were fishing up the river. We caught a few small blacks but most were whites. Bite was good early. I like the river less boat traffic. I may fish the main lake more when the weather cools down. I would like to put out some tree tops on some drop offs.

I just got back from Cave Run. Fished from about daylight till 3 pm. My partner caught about 35-40 5-6 inchers and 2 keepers. One was a really nice slab. I caught 5 or 6 non-keepers. We started at Twin Knobs and then drove around to Bilbo. had about the same luck at both places, 12 to 15 fow. We were dropping jigs and caught on several different ones. Grey and white rubber shad seemed to be the best.
