having been on KY lake once I can't help you out other that to offer this bit of info.
KY Lake is VERY big so those that can help you will need to know what area of the lake you'll be at.

I agree with the other guys. I'll add that you should get a map and let us know what size and style of boat you have.

Thanks for the replies guys. My first choice would be targeting docks around the paris landing area. As i said depending on what comes from my inquire i'm open to any suggestions. As far the boat goes, it's a 17' deep v set up for spider rigging. 70hp merc. It's been on erie many time's in less than ideal conditions. Again thank you all.

In that event, Big R .... I'd suggest also posing your question on the Tenn State Forum. Also look at the West Tn subforum, for current reports. You could also read the posts/threads of Cane Pole ... and see what's happening in his neck of the woods (Big Sandy).

Unless you're already committed to being there the week of 10/10 ... you might consider delaying the trip & attending the Shindig that the KY boys are putting on. While I doubt any of them will be running up the lake that far (to the Big Sandy area), I'm pretty sure they'll have a handle on what the fish are doing in their general area.
