    Default Yeah, but ...

It struck a nerve with me, too. A couple of them, actually.

One is that we're not supposed to post links to other forums/websites that are competitors or that don't have a link back to this site. :o

Two is that it maligns the E KY mindset ... making them appear stupid & greedy Doh

Remember folks ... different states have differing rules. Obey them, to the letter, and represent your state with dignity & pride Thumbs Up

I'm going to allow this post/link to stay for a couple more days .... just to get some discussion going, and to serve as a "teaching moment".

Sorry for putting another site on here I didnt think about that, I have family in Eastern Ky and my father is from EKy that really ticked me off when things were said that way. It may sound childish but when my father was 17 he didnt finish high school because he was enlisting in the army to go to Viet Nam.

Ezgo .... I kinda figured that was what "struck a nerve" ... that crack about E Ky folks. That's why I left it, as is.

And, I'll leave it running ... as long as it doesn't turn into a "war between the states" or a bashing contest.

Being that I live in E KY that does strike a nerve. All I will say is that I fish legal no matter where I fish. Some people are just Doh

Education is not a measure of someone’s common sense. At least the guy ask before actually going fishing.
I moved to Kentucky 4 years ago from Wisconsin and some guys I worked with for 30 years told me allot of jokes about Kentucky. The joke is on them because everyplace I go in Kentucky people are great.
Have not been back to Wisconsin since !

iIts not a geagraphic problem, its an entitlement issue. Im from EKY and know lots good folks from here, hate to be stereotyped, but you know how to disprove the hillbilly eky know-nothin greedy eneducated outlaws.....etc. Just do it by actions. Prove you are worth you salt as a fisherman and be respectful and helpful to others(obey creel/length limits), and ifn ya wanna go outta state and be a greedy slob, just dont try to fish with me, cuz i hope you get caught.

From the looks of it (now) .... it would appear that their website has closed access to that thread. Could be a legal manuver, or possibly they saw no viable reason to allow it to continue (site rule violations ?).

The "fuss" was about stereotyping an E Ky resident angler, after a comment was made about "possibly" disregarding the rules about the number of poles one can use in Ohio waters. Something along those lines, anyway. Neither side represented itself well, in the ensuing discussion.

And, since they've seen fit to close access to the thread, on their end ... I'm doing the same, on this end.
