What used to be Judy's Fishing Depot, south of Draffenville on Hwy #68, is re-opened under the name of Bass & Gas. Despite the name, they have lots of Crappie gear.
(standard disclaimer - I have no pecuniary interest in the shop, just a happy customer.)

If they kept the same basic store that Judy and George had, they have good minnows. Did George let the 7 pound smallmouth reproduction mount I did for him stay?

Clint do you know if they are going to have the weekly big fish drawing like Judy did??
I only spent a few minutes there but they have a separate bait house. The lady with whom I spoke said they have Minnows, worms and crickets.
And the store is completely redone. Nothing of what George & Judy had is left. I did not see the smallie, so I guess it is gone. While most of the shop is Bass there is one whole isle devoted to Crappie Jigs, tubes, etc.
Another great thing (in my opinion) is there is No Smoking in the store anymore. They have two tables with chairs set up outside for those who want to grab lunch and smoke.
The couple that have it used to have the old "Cabin" in Lake City (not the new one in Eddyville).
I asked the owner if he had considered carrying B'n'M poles and he said he was talking to someone about that already. It will be good to have a place to get replacement tips for my Crappie Wizard (on my third so far).
I think it is going to be great having them there, as the shop at the Y in Draffenville mainly is for the Tournament Bass Anglers.

I have not been in the store yet, drove by early last week and it wasn't open yet. I did have the opportunity to meet the new owner and he seems like a nice fellow. I am told he will have gas with 0% ethenol.
I usually go to Fast Eddies.
