Default Anybody else bummed about the weather?

I'm off work Friday and Saturdays, have made plans the past two weeks to wet a hook. The weather has not been favorable, wouldn't you know windy and raining. Worked Wednesday, Thursday and it was beautiful. Worse part about it, I've completed every possible chore/task possible to be ready to fish. Packed trailer bearings, cleaned/waxed boat, re-spooled rods, organized tackle etc....Nothing left to do today but watch it rain! UK isn't even playing today!! Just had to vent!

I hear ya! What so bad about it is that with all the rain we're having who knows when the lakes I fish (Barren and Green) will be suitable to fish. I went Tuesday to Barren and it was a mess. There was enough drift that you had to idle everywhere you went.(Acres of it in some places!) Green is already above summer pool, and Barren is at summer pool and will be rising more after this rain and the rain that is forecast for next week. Any ideas where to fish the pre-spawn with these lakes above summer pool?

I'm feeling your pain. I'd love to go anytime, but if it's raining, I'd rather be working. And I have been really busy lately, that has helped me from going crazy. Few days last week when it was beautiful, thought I was gonna lose it. I'm ready to put some fish in the boat

HarleyMan, be set on ready around the thrid week of April. Hybrids will be tearing it up at night then! I'll be sure to give you a hollar. It's the only time I take a short hiatus from Crappie fishing. Hogdaddy, pre-spawn on Barren with high water? I'd probably be fishing back in Skaggs creek or Browns Ford passed the bridge. Probably start shallow and move out to around 12ft till you find them and definately try the laydowns you see in the water. Hope the Corp doesn't try to rapidly pull the plug on it like they have in the past. Thats what makes fishing Barren so screwy!

Up here where I live & fish we have went from frozen to flooded with very little in between. I'm chomping at the bit and it's raining more as I write this. Oh well, I've got almost 6 weeks vacation just waiting to be used up.

Happened last spring up here too, I feel your pain Brad, the water is warm enuf and its time to be out. Its gonna be a while too before the water comes back down the way it is now, not talking about the rain goin on today. Sure could use a saturday UK game to get the time passed.....

I agree with you guys, its muddy, windy and wet everywhere you go, including my yard. Thats why me and a few buddys are packing up the gear and heading south for about a week on Monday. Heading to Weiss, weather forecast is calling for weather in the 60's and partly cloudy. Hope to put some in the boat. My freezer went bad last year and lost all my fish. I'm craving some fried crappie, slaw and fries. Taking a bag of old kentucky colonel flour to Bama in hopes of having some good old fresh crappie down their. LOL. Good fishing guys, stay safe and I hope the weather improves!!
