Default Another Sledd Creek report 3-3-11

Went to Sledd today. Started fishing about 10:00am, spiderigging. Water was pretty dingy. Had 3 decent fish by 2:00pm. Slow day. Moved to Little Bear and started in the deep water, but couldn't get a bite. Water was pretty muddy. Kept moving shallower. Finally found some fish in 12-13 water about 6 ft deep. Ended up catching 17 really nice crappie and four bass all together, but only kept 5 crappie for supper. Caught the fish on chartreuse jigs/orange heads tipped with minnows. Trolling. Water was muddier as it got shallower, but warmer.....which is usually the case for muddy water. 51.4 degrees. Tried fishing in 8-10 feet of water, but never had a bite....and the depth finder showed very few fish.

Tried beds in Sledd today and only caught little fish. Went from front to back.. Vertical Jigging.
Sounds like I should have put on the spider rig. It seems to be a later bite.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!
