Muddy water and new territory

Neighbor and I went to KY Lake this morning, and had a good surprise. Fish were hungry and we found the right color!
Caught 27 keeper crappie, and threw back 7-8 to grow up and catch another day. Was on the water before 7am, and the conditions were perfect. Besides the handful of rain showers and a couple of down pours you could not ask for better fishing weather.
Fish were hitting chart. jigs with red sparkle and chart tubes, and a orange/chart jig with red sparkle and chart tube. Most of the fish were caught between 10-14 FOW, fishing on and off of brush ON ridges or drop offs. The magic depth was 11' of line out of the poles. 100% were caught jigging, no spider rigging for us.

Great job Bandchaser. Hope the bite continues for a week or so. I'm coming down tomorrow and fishing for a few day's. I was there a couple of weeks ago right after the snow,and I couldn't buy a bite, The water temp was in the high 30's-low 40's. I saw that you were fishing 10-14 fow .If you don't mind my asking, were you fishing back in the bays or on the main lake.

We were fishing a very large series of bays on the north end. Oh, and the water temp was pretty much 47 deg all day.

Nice fish. Wiskers is going to get jealous you posting those pictures. I got on to them pretty good Sat. with the same pattern. Stacked up on the top of the deep drops along the main creek channels. Water is getting almost muddy.47 degrees.Thanks for posting!

There have been several pics of whiskers catches that I have been jealous of. Just wanted whiskers to still know what them crappie look like since he will be on the boat for soooo long!!!!!!!!
Best catchem' all now before the professional gets off the boat! He will have some pinned up hook settin' energy to get rid of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
