Default KY. Lake Crappie Fishing is Good

My buddy and myself went yesterday and had a good day finally after being contained inside the house for a while. We fished for about 5 hours and had 27 keeper crappie and they were about half white and half black crappie. Wind was tough but they bit really well, and the water is warming considerably as we found water yesterday evening that was in the mid to high 40 degree range. If the weather stays like this it is going to get really good before long.

Figures since I'm starting to install hardwood floors in my house tomorrow too, Wiskers. I'll be out of commission for at least the next two weekends.

Heading down from Evansville tonight. I wasn't planning on dewinterizing this early, but you guys have got me so pumped up. I have been surfing the posts the last couple weeks at work and not getting anything done there. Hopefully, I can be on the water by 10 or so. I'm bringing my whole arsenal of crappie gear that I have squirreled away this winter. I've still got til the end of the month before my nonresident license expires, so here I come.

Finally caught my first crappie at KY/Barkley last year after striking out the first couple years. Planning on padding those numbers this year. All the info here has great the last few years, and has got me where I am now. Thanks for everything fellas!!

My screen name was purged from the system for some reason, so it is showing me as a Newbie, well I still am, but starting to progress.

Slab Slayer were you vertical fishing or Rigging?? Fish moving up from 16-20. ft to shallower water yet?

Went fishing this morning and had 20 at lunch, the water temp. was showing 50 to 51 degrees and all of the fish came from 10 to 12 feet. Would like to post some pictures but have not figured out how to do that yet, when it comes to computers i am not real bright. All of the fish were from 11 to 13 inches and the blacks really starting to show them egg sacs. Going back in the morning and will post again tomorrow night on results.

Slab Slayer .... there's a sticky post at the top of this forum, with step by step instructions on picture posting. If you have problems with the directions, PM me with the details & I'll guide you thru the process.
