Had a decent day yesterday on Ky Lake. We caught 20 nice crappie on jig and floater, 6 bass, and a fish I had never caught before...a chain pickerel that weighed 4.3 pounds. We also caught several yellow bass. The crappie we caught were all nice fish. The largest was 1.87 pounds, second largest was 1.76, and the rest were anywhere from 1.4 to 1.5 pounds (with the exception of one 10" fish).

Nice mess!
Some of us are working overtime while it's nearly 60 degrees outside.![]()
if he caught a chain pickerel and was using a jig n float id bet he was more on the shallow side of things, never know tho
No secrets here, won't give you the gps coordinates or anything but we caught them in Panther Bay. They were on a brushpile that was on a drop from 13'-19'. We were using Southern Pro stingers chartreuse/white and red/white in color. Fishing a jig/floater 10-12' deep. Water temp was 39 yesterday morning but warmed up to 43 yesterday afternoon. Better be on the lake this weekend. I think the water temp will hit low 50's with these warmer nights and days.
We fished water up to 4' shallow think we would find shallower fish but never did.

They were all blacks. I think the temp will warm quicker than you might think with 50 degree nights, but I have been wrong alot of times.

The surface temps might warm a bit but down where the fish are, it's still pretty darn chilly.
