I missed the draft lottery by one year. I have always regretted not going into the military but with Nam winding down as I got out of high school and GIs being spit upon as they came home, I decided it wasn't for me. Some bunny-humper spitting in my face would have landed me in prison! That is a decision I wish I had made differently. My appreciation goes out to all who have served and fought for my rights to live in this great country.
Well, I was never spit upon but I was treated with a little disrespect.:confused: I still don't know why people took their anger out on the guys who were fighting.:mad: If you want to disrespect some one, let it be the politicians. They were the ones who made some bad decisions. Oh well, that's a whole nother topic..!Doh
I have never served in the military, but I would like to say THANK YOU to all the vets and active members on here. I appreciate all you do or have done for this great country.
Wasn't quite old enough. I too want to thank all of you that served so proudly and honorably in Viet Nam. Me and my family are forever indebted to you!!!

Didn't go to Viet Nam but served 1971-75 and met some really great guys coming back from there. My time was spent as Security Police (K9) and SAC.
USN 1965 to 1979 X2 on welcome Home. Thanks to everyone who has served and continues to serve today. Freedom ain't free
