    Default Tie silicon skirt

I normally use marabou to make skirts on my crappie jigs, but I want to try a few with silicon skirts.
Can someone tell me how to hold 12 or more strands, tie them on and get them to "fluff" out so they don't just point straight behind the jig?
Right now just holding them to tie in any position is almost impossible to me.
I am using the large strips sold to make spinnerbaits and trying to cut out the appropriate length.
    Using 1/16 jig heads
    Baffled !!

    Thanks for the help

Tie them where the "loose" end of the longer strands point toward the head of the jig. That will make them "fluff". As far as holding them, try taking a small strip of household transparent tape to hold them together above where you plan to tying them to the jig collar.

Are you using collar or no collar jig heads? With no collar tie in some chenile first then hold pinched at the top and tie 2 loose wraps and increase the pressure . To get them to flair be sure and tie in the thread at the same spot. They will spin like deer hair. With collar tie in a good amount of thread and glue this in first. Spin on the skirt material and whip finish. You can also tie in 2 small bunches at the top and then the bottom. You can also make some small skirts and slide them on. Some good video.

Using both collared and no collar, but plan to start using only no collar.
I am sorry , just don't quit get what your saying.
If you have the patience try once more.

    Thanks,
