Well I think I'm gonna go with the "U" bolt & Wing Nuts.
Before drilling any holes and mounting your vertical holder make sure your rods dont hit the rod holders.;)
Gonna drill the holes at a slight angle so that the rod holder will lean back away from the cross bar jusssssst a little bit.Quote:

Also thought about drill'n a small hole at the top so you can insert the hook and snug the line up. this will hold the rods in the holder if you hit a big wave at high speed.
