Default Turning in someone with illegal short fish

Has anyone ever "blew the whistle" on a violator with short fish? If so, what was the outcome?

    Yes, I have called.

I have no idea what the outcome was. Hopefully tickets written.

Dont think it would do any good here...no wardens to speak of. They are very limited and too many counties to cover. (Here there's no size limit but there is a count limit.)

I called and got no answer. Then this September, I saw a guy poach a deer from my boat, scared heck out of me, and I yelled to him, hey that's poaching. He said"{ deer shouldn't be on my land. It was a manicured lawn in Malcolm creek bay. I dialed the hotline and the guy says, it may have been a squirrel hunter I heard....so I hung up.

If they work like the Police around here, if they don't see it then there's not much they can do about it and if you call by the time they get there it's too late, unless you want to stay around and press charges yourself.

Maybe we can start an Auxiliary Fish and Wildlife kinda like the Auxiliary Coast Guard. With training and support from our KDWF we can be the eyes and ears of the lakes. No enforcement what so ever. Just pictures, numbers and names if possible.I am on the water over 100 days a year and I see lots of questionable stuff. Maybe little cards to hand out with the rules and phone numbers.Education of the rules might help. Just Saying ! Cabin fever has hit again. Gotta go fishing soon!

Someone turned in these guys who were snagging walleyes at night. The Conv. officer showed and started getting the story from about a dozen guys. Then he toke the 2 men to their truck and in the back in a cooler they had 21 wallys + 6 in the basket. 17 fish over and most were snagged. Everybody applauded and gave the LEO their info. A couple months later when these 2 had their day in court, nobody would go testify and I wasn't riding the bus alone. In short, those 17 wallys cost those two $11k, it would have been 2x as much if the snagging part had gone through. Long story short, I wouldn't know them again if I ran into them in the sticks, but they'de probably remember me. Better be positive.

Why couldn't the KFW officers set up a couple roadblocks where boats could be pulled off the road and livewells and coolers could be checked? Or possibly an
officer hanging out at the cleaning stations on saturdays in March/April.......bet he could write some tickets then.

Now your thinking, this would be acceptable. Man we sacrifice our rights way to quickly, even if they're breaking the law, it doesn't give them the right to search everybody. Both of my Grand-dads fought a big war to keep the Nazi's "stuff" out of here. Protect your rights and others or we won't have them either. Thanks
