Spent about 4 hrs fishing at Barren today and man were they biting. Caught over a 100 fish. Wound up keeping 33 for some fresh fish. Was the wife's first time crappie fishin, hope it didnt spoil her. All fish were caught 1 1/2 to 2 Ft deep in about 6-8 foot of water.

Great report and catch. I believe you have a new fishing partner.![]()
that's a mess of crappie!
I live between Walnut Creek and Brown's Ford.
Would load up and go today after seeing that except got the fact it is Sunday. I vowed a LONG time ago to NEVER EVER fish Barren on the weekend again. Way too many Crazies for me on Saturday and Sunday. I have a small Jon boat and have about been swamped a number of times by the bass fishermen running 70+. I have my grand daughter Monday and Tues but may be able to go Wed. Will probably slow down by then....LOL
Good Looking buncha Crappie!
When we were out there yesterday, after the bridge there was only a canoe and one boat. The bass guys are not there because the water is way to low for them to run and gun.
