    Thumbs up Boy's Nite Out

Well my 2 nephews got to go night fish'n and it was was a 50/50 trip. Poor Dylan went with my buddy bass fish'n and their trip was cut short by mechanical problems. Logan on the other hand had a great time and caught more than me and Mrdux put together. I think we wound up with 28 Whites and Yellas.

We didn't hit the bed till bout 1:15. We got in the truck at around 12:30 to come back to camp. I backed out to take off and asked Logan if he had fun. NO ANSWER, HE WAS OUT!!! I'm talk'n in the truck for 15 sec and out. Wish I could do that! On the bright side atleast I didn't have to listen to a 12 year old tell me how bad he put it on me all the way back to camp. :D Try'n to keep 2 young boys entertained is tuffer than I thought but it's worth it. They'r hav'n a ball. Oh boy. now I get to go clean a cooler full of fish. Yea!!!

Thanks for the trip Doug. That boy will be talk'n bout last night for a long time.

Keep that knife sharp Man. I figure now that Logan has this white bass thing figured out, he'll be wearing you out to go every night.

It was a pleasure to have the 2 of you guys in the boat. Logan was very much a gentleman and took advice to heart. With a young person's first trip like that you never know how they are going to react to the situation. He did great and made it a very enjoyable night.

The fish were scattered and unpredictable. I should have keyed in on one small detail of Logan's rig and made changes to Wisker's and my rig sooner. We did have some really good quality fish. Ended up keeping 20 whites and 8 good yellows. Logan was trying to seine the lake of the small yellows and we caught several drums, one up around 4 pounds.

My hands are going to be sore for some time from all the gill-plate cuts but that goes with it.

Have fun cleaning and eating all those fish. I hope we can get back out with both the boys. We may have created a monster!

Dylan filleted his first fish with an electric fillet knife. Boy did a great job!

You guys sure didn't miss anything Friday night. Lots of boats out and if you put all the keepers from all of them together, you might have a limit. No idea if it was the cold front, full moon, sun spots, whatever. Quackstackr and I worked hard for 4 keepers. BBD was out there for a while with a boat load of relatives and left early. His family will swear that we were lying about the fish we had been catching!LOL

Didn't he say that the same thing happened last year when they came down?

BBD... you need to let us know next year about 3 weeks ahead of time so we can stock up on fish before they get here and then catch up on our sleep while they visit. :D

Last night was tough. I thought it was going to be a slam dunk considering the surface feeding that was going on all around us before dark. Guess they got their bellies full... except I just finished cleaning those 4 and they looked like they hadn't eaten in a week.
