Default Shellcracker question about Ky Lake

How's the redear fishing down there? I've heard good things about it from a friend of mine. Can you expect to catch some hogs? I've never fished down there before and plan on tripping down there soon. My goal has always been to catch a 2lb redear and mount it, is Ky Lake a good spot to do that on?

I usually mount at least one 2 pound redear per season for my clients. Don't come down expecting to catch one but count it as gravy if you do. My biggest last season was 1-12 and it is mounted in my showroom. You won't see the huge fish like you would in SC or GA but the fishery is expanding every year.

They caught a 2.5 pound bluegill down around paris landing state park last year.

I beleive the picture was on Paris landing.com

There are some good fish down here, if you have a good spot marked on your GPS.
I live 10 miles from the 160,000 acre Kentucky Lake, and the 57,000 acre Barkley Lake is within 25 miles of my house. I live 10 miles from 220,000 acres of Water.

Caught one last year while crappie fishing with a small crank bait. It was 13 inches long. Not sure what it weighed but it fried up golden brown.
