    Default Question about reels

Do any of you guy use regular baitcasting reels on your spider rigs. I have some spinning which I like. I bought some underspin reels I keep hitting trigger when going for rod (which I can't stand). I just bought a whole new set of rods and new depth finder for front of boat. Trying to keep wife happy don't want to spend any nore money. I have some old bass bait casting reels laying around thought about using them.

    Cool Yep

I have the Wally Marshall Bait Casters on all of my spider rig rods.

    They work great.

    I do.

I have a few Ryobi min mags from years ago that I am using on some of my rods. They work great and I like them 1k times better than the underspin reels that I bought last year specifically for spider rigging. I hit the trigger on mine accidentally too. I bet I've lost a half dozen fish in the last two trips because of it.

you can use them to spider rig, i would use them hanging down so the line feeds correctly on spinning poles just have to remember wich way to reel when landing fish. i have seen pics of the guide todd hucklbee using bait casting reel when single pole dipping brush. with a low profile bait reel he keeps his finger on the line to feel strikes.

    Default Reels

I use the Zebco 33T series underspin reels either Gold or Platinum on all my jigging poles but on the spider rigs I use all baitcasters. Shimano Citica's on
    (8) B & M 16' Bucks Graphite Jig Poles with 10 lb. high vis Vicious line and run the reels in the up position. You'll appreciate the drag system of the baitcaster when a big cat gets on the line.
