Here are some pics of the last couple of weeks fishing. Made two trips to the river for stripers and one to Ky Lake for crappie.
It looks like I need to pay more attention to Wiskers and BigBadDad when I head to the lake to catch some slabs. Congrats on the fish you all caught these past 2-weeks, those were some dandy fish.
This first trip was with my Son and my buddy Brent. We ended up with about 25 stripers and of course little man caught the big one.
My boy's fish weighed 10Lb. Fun trip!
Went to Ky Lake, we caught a dozen fish but only 1 was any size (13.5").
I went by myself to the river again for stripers. When I quit my fish counter showed 47 fish caught. The biggest went 10 Lb and the avg. was really nice at about 6 Lbs this day. Great Fishing! All the fish were released to fight again.

Nice job! Great pics. And thanks for taking your son fishing. We need up and comers like that.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
Hey Huck, you tried any river tribs yet?
AWESOME when you get to fish with your children. Mine are grown but we talk on the phone alot and they plan trips to the Bluegrass State. I'd follow Wiskers and Buffalo13 more than me...I'm a "wannabe"!!!:D:D:D
Is that below Kentucky or Barkley dam?

No, the rockfish we have been catching are in the main river channel. The river is on a pretty good rise at the present. So the places we caught our fish will probably get washed out. But, I have a spot that gets good with high water some times. Catching rockfish on the river is definately influenced by the water levels and current.
When the rivers get inudated with lots of water, the debris and current can get fairly dangerous so be careful. Sometimes, it is better to just stay off the river and let things settle down.

Those are some pretty stripers huck, look fat n healthy. Can't find many real stripers except for below the dam every now and then, and its still mostly hybrids below meldahl, would be fun to get into some of those rockfish like that.
I won't be out on the river for the foreseeable future. Gonna get ugly for while. Them slabs should come up into the small shallow creeks though. Hopefully it won't stay high all spring. The best place for stripers up here that I've heard of is the Brush creek island area. I've got a buddy that has slayed them up there off the upriver tip of the island.
