Just wanted to let anyone know that may still be coming to Kentucky Lake, and the Blood River area in particular, it isn't too late to catch some slabs. We caught some decent fish this morning and then went back out and got on them again this evening. I have been finding black crappie still along the shoreline mixed in with some BIG red ear. The whites are a little deeper gathering on structure in 6-10 feet of water. I truly like May more than April. The lake isn't near as crowed, the spawn has wound down, and the fish are more catchable after a little time to recover from the spawn. Not to mention the more stable weather. The only thing is I wish the lake were at summer pool. But at least it isn't 14 feet over like last year!
