Default Nolin Lake or maybe another?

My fifith grade son and I are planning or spring trip during easter break. He would like to fish in Kentucky. We are from Ohio. I came across Nolin Lake when looking around. I do not know anything about it but it seemed like it might be smaller water which might be good for unpredictable weather. Is it a pretty decent lake or do you have any other suggestions?

I quess what I'm really asking is their a good population to keep him interested?

    Thanks

Nolin Lake has some coves with standing timer. Your best bet will be to fish in the timer. You probably have your best luck that time of year on jig and float not very deep although you can catch them tight lining. A few timber spots I suggest are Red Rock, Piney, or Briar Creek.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Thanks for the information.

I will look at a map and try to find the places you mentioned.
