I have to say that this is the first post I have ever seen about cave run lake. I haven't fished cave run for years but I hear a lot of people catch a bunch of crappie out of there. I would say a popeye jig in yellow or pink would work.

Most years we camp at twin knobs camp ground 2nd week in june and can catch the whites in the jumps. The big hollow across the lake from scotts creek marina is where we catch them but they say where the river comes into the lake is a good spot too. If you catch them when they are in the jumps it is a sight to see the feeding frenzy.

Tiny torpedos in chrome. When they start busting the top of the water just pop it through them. You can watch your electronics and find a school not on top and work a jiging spoon too.

... on White Bass ... throwing the small size Silver Buddy (blade bait). A Roadrunner is also another good bait to consider. Also, a in-line spinner - like a Rooster Tail, would be another option.

White, Charteuse, or Yellow will work for colors.

You can take gu-3's bait, and have some fun with it, too ... especially if they're busting Shad on top. Another option, in the case of surface busting White Bass .... is to use a popper plug with a 12-18 inch leader and a marabou Crappie jig tied on the end. Cast it into the area where the White Bass are busting on surface, and retrieve it in the "jerk-jerk-jerk-pause" cadence. All the other aforementioned baits are just cast & retrieved at a steady pace ... since they're subsurface runners.

If I remember correctly ... about that timeframe (late May into June) ... I've seen White Bass surface feeding on the main lake. (Twin Knobs side of the lake, and down that bank to your left). If you don't see surface feeding fish, or you don't see Shad schools swimming on the surface .... troll with the blade baits, Roadrunners, or a deep diving crankbait with a jig on a leader. (tie the leader line to the front hooks/hook eye, rather than the rear ones ... this helps keep the bait diving, and not spinning around & around). I've used the crankbait/jig trolling, Silver Buddy trolling/casting, and the Roadrunner trolling/casting methods on Herrington & Taylorsville ... fishing for White Bass & Hybrid Stripers ... with decent results, so I'm fairly confident they'll work on Cave Run.

Bream are another case, altogether :p ... and I'm not all that much of a Bream fisherman. But, deep cover & deep cliff walls are where I've caught most of my decent sized Bream. Wax Worms & Crickets have been the baits I normally used ... and usually I've fished them under a slip float. Mostly I've fished >10ft deep (up to ~ 20ft) ... with the exception of during the spawning periods (full moon periods of the warmer months).

    ... cp
