Default Rodholders for spider rigging and trolling

What brand or type rod holders are the best for the money. Would consider making them if anyone has ideas for that.
    Thanks in advance.

    first welcome to the forum.
I have Tite lok and Drift masters on my boat but if you search rod holders on the main forum you'll find all kinds of them from home made to the most expensive kind you can think of.

You might try Lake Talquin Lodge at

    http://www.laketalquinlodge.com/gallery/TackleShop/

I like their's because I can adjust the angle 360 degree's. Others do not seem to have that ability. I long line troll and spider rig. Works great for both.

Give Pat or her son's Jerrard, Jade or Jason a call. They will help you and will ship to you. They can also custom make units.

    Have a great season

I only use Driftmaster. Why.... because that is what I bought years ago and they are great. Still have the original ones.

I don't know what chuckauten is talking about when he says they are more adjustable than the others.

Driftmaster rod holders can rotate forward-backwards or even upside down. You can also turn them from side to side as far as you want. All of this can be done with the turn of a wing nut and then lock down tight. All rod holders on a round tube should work this way. Check out the Driftmaster trolling bars at Driftmaster Rod Holders Great prices also.

Like Jigboy I originally bought Driftmaster 20 years ago and have been nothing but pleased with them, fully adjustable and durable. They come in both right and left hand threads which allows you to troll without worry of your rod holder loosening up and spinning around. Left threads out the left side of boat and right threads out the right side of boat.

I've tried several brands including driftmaster, I can promise you the ones mentioned above you can get a laketalquionlodge are the best, most durable, adjustable holders on the market. You will love them, you cant beat the price and it will be the last set of rod holders you ever have to buy. Believe me I researched rod holders and there prices for a long time. You can't go wrong with these.

I got the tite-lok black widow from bps and its steady and adjusts about anywhere you want it to. As far as making them yourself, I made my first set and they worked and still do, but took up more space werent as steady in choppy water as the tite-lok, i still use em' to troll with but would suggest to buy your first set cuz its easier to learn spider rigging ect. when you start w/ good equip, it can get frustrating with multiple poles when things arent working right. Good luck and all the aforementioned are good choices.

I have a couple of the Driftmaster 250's on the front of my boat. You can adjust them anyway you want. I am going to move the DM to the rear and put Hi Teks on the front. Several places I fish do not have piers so you have to crawl in from the front of the boat. The DM while they are solid as a rock make that difficult. The HT remove easy and it only takes a sec to put them back in place. Several fishermen have that same setup around here.
