    Default Ice Storm 09

Here are some pics from the ice storm last year. My family and friends were all ok, just a bunch of cleanup to do. The power was off for 6-days to my home, which was amazing considering all the damage.

Road in front of my home.

Where is my truck? Its is to the left of the garage.

There is the truck, no damage. Wow-was that close!

River birch trees, ended up loosing one of them. Total, I believe was 6 trees I had to cut down in my yard.

    Creek by my home.

Looks like some of us are getting ready for an anniversary round of winter weather.

I have lost about 50% of the trees out of my yard, too.

Was coming across the Parkway to get to Ky lake in early may and noticed all the trees laying everywhere. Didn't find out about the ice storm until we got to the marina the next morning. The damage was unreal. Hope you never have to go thru another one of those.

You should have seen it before things started greening up.

It literally looked like a bomb went off or a category 5 hurricane had come through.

Yeah, those pics brought back nightmares. We were without electricity for about 11 days. We ended up using the propane cooker a few times and I burned wood for a few months from my small lot. Sounds like we may be hit with some bad weather again this Thursday....

Your truck looks a like a big slab buried in a brushpile during a nasty cold front Glad yall were unhurt. The aftermath of the 03' storm in NEKY is still everywhere you look, I went grouse hunting the other day and the woods are nothing but layed over cedars and 45 degree treetops.
