Default Not a crappie, but you gotta see

My 4 year old son caught this muskie on 6lb line and a 4 ft ultra light rod while crappie fishing Saturday evening. 37 inches but not sure about the weight.

Now I bet that was a hugh strain on the line, reel, rod, and angler. Congrats to the fisherman!

WOW if I caught something like that with that equipment they would've been putting me in an ambulance with a heart attack.

I got one of those (back in 1985) ... Crappie fishing at Green River Lake. Caught on a 6ft rod with 4lb line (& Roadrunner) ... 32" Tiger @ 12lbs
Cost me a dipnet net replacement ... gill rakers cut a hole right thru the net as it was being brought aboard. Fell right out thru the net & into the floor of the boat ... LOL !! THEN the "real" fun began.

I think you can contact the KDFWR & get a certificate for the catch ... might have to send them some scales off the fish, but they'll supply you with a envelope to put them in. I got one for mine, & the certificate is hanging on the wall underneath the mounted fish. Lil Dude may not make much of it now, or understand it all ... but, he'll have a momento to show his buds, for years to come.

Weight calculator guesstimators put a 37" Musky at between 14-18lbs ... so call it what you want

Congrats to the young man.:D I was musky fishing at the cave yesterday afternoon, and I sure didn't get slimed like the youngun. Using 6 lb line and 4 ft rod to land a fish like that is an accomplishment. Well, he just beat my PB musky so far and Ive got an extra 22 years on him, so hes certainly ahead of the curve on fishin'...

Wow! What a catch! That beats some of my buddies that have been fishin for 35 years!! I've been tellin people for years "Don't underestimate ultra light". You can pull in some mighty big fish if you handle it right. Evidently
