    Default Ky Lake Feb. 18

First post. Going to Ky Lake in a couple weeks to crappie fish. Barring any bad weather, would Johnathan creek be a good place to start? Never crappie fished Ky Lake before fished Ky for just about every other species. Looking for just some pointers not specific spots. Thanks Vance

Try a spot that doesn't have 8 million boats.

Jonathan would be a good choice this time of yr. you have access to creeks & deeper water. Good place to start.

There won't be 8 million boats there till April.

Naw, there were 7 million there last Friday and Saturday (Feb. 3 & 4) and about 4 million on Monday. Looked liked spawning season.....but everybody seemed to be catching fish.

Go farther south to Springville, TN, put in at the pumping station right next to Pleasant View Resort. You'll be in West Sandy Creek, an arm off of the big Sandy river. Cruise out til you are in 11-13 ft of water and start spider rigging right off the bottom. If you don't spider rig, drag a jig with a tube or jig and minniw combo across the bottom. Or throw out slip bobber rigs and experiment with depth til you hit fish. We've been quitting around noon and usually have thirty to fifty keepers. You should load up the boat.
White with sparkle, black and charteuse, and red and chartreuse have been the hot colors lately.

    Happy fishin'!!

If I was you, I would try Sledd Creek Bay. Look for a little round man in a Lowes boat and follow him. You will hear him before you see him!
The only way to have a good fishing spot is to make it yourself!

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Yup, Wilbur Know Bobby Dan for years. I used to live in the same area as him. We fished and hunted together a bunch. I haven't seen or heard from him for years, as I moved out of the area, then out of the country and now back in the country but out of the area. Are you from the Steger area?
