KY Lake gills and yellow bass
I went bass fishing in the morning out on the ledges before my wife and daughter got up and did pretty good. At about 10:00 my wife and daughter were up and moving and said they wanting to catch some bluegill so I took them out on the ledges for about 4 hours and caught fish until they were tired of taking them off of the hook......didn't catch any redear though. Gills ranged from little to really big and they were all mixed in together along with tons of yellow bass. We were fishing right next to the main river channel in anywhere from 15' to 23' deep and were throwing mini carolina rigs just like you would use for bass fishing only using long shank (trust me you want the long shank) bluegill hooks with a small piece of nightcrawler. Plan on keeping fish if you do this as many will be hooked deep in the throat. I simply drove along the river channel edge and dropped a buoy and fished around it anytime I saw fish on my electronics......really easy fishing if you want to catch some right now.
