What a great time on the river Sunday. Limited out on smallmouth in an hour and a half. Released 10 keepers on top of the 5 fish limit that I kept. Along with some great scenery it was an awesome day on one of Michigan's magnificent waterways.

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

I cam imagine the fun you had hauling them in! What a nice batch of bronze backs! This site is a breath of fresh air for sure. Another fishing forum I frequent had a similar post about a stringer of smallies and half the people attacked him for keeping such a precious fish that grows soo slowly. They argue if everyone kept their limit there will be no smallies for our grandkids! Everyone has the right to do what they want within the law, and if that upsets someone, keep it to themselves. My grandma always told me, "if you don't have something good to say, say nothing". Again, nice fish and thanks for sharing.
It's funny that you say that about being attacked and scolded for keeping smallmouth because I have had those issues several times. I have come to the boat ramp in my kayak with a stringer of nice smallies and had other fisherman basically go off on me. The reasons for their issues are always the same, " You should leave them in the lake so others have the opportunity to catch them" and "Bass are no good eating. That is just wasting big fish". For the most part, I have found that those giving me the first complaint are more often than not bass tournament anglers, not always, but often, and they have no clue on my fishing past or ethics. I just politely respond to them that if they had a clue how many keeper size smallmouth I release every summer they probably would not be saying anything. Then there are the non bass eaters. To them my response is pretty much always the same, I just say "Well I live just right around the corner and will have these in the pan in about an hour. You are welcome to come over and give them a try. If you still don't like them that is ok. But as for my family, we will continue to eat them. Thanks and have a great day" Not once has anyone taken me up on the offer and the conversation usually ends there. I say to each his own. Thanks for the comment, it is much appreciated, and if you are ever in the central Michigan area, or want to make a trip up, please feel free to give me a shout and we can gang up on them smallies. Always room for a front seat passenger in my tandem kayak.

They could be jealous because ethey don't know how to catch them their self. Could be that they are just one of those misinformed PETA people also.
