    Smile Wellington-Hargis Creek

If we dont get those storms I am going to head out that way Saturday evening. It does not look like that big of a lake so maybe I can find some success from the banks. I have learned some stuff by reading the website. Find cover near drop offs being the most repeated. For bank fishing, I think I will use slip bobbers mostly....I do have a question though:

It would seem using a slip bobber to "find the fish" would be a pain in the rear. What kind of rig should I use to find the fish? I figure after I find them Ill rig up a slip bobber.

    Thanks for reading.

Just try a regular bobber, fan an area at 1'-2', then increase the depth as you go. It will let you cover more water, lose less tackle, and find the depth the fish are at. No fish, new spot. Another thing a swimming pool or aquarium thermometer to check water temps. You find 60* and I'll guarantee you their bedding somewhere, find some cut bank.
All lakes raise a foot when I step in the boat
