Well, caught 11 this morning in a stretch of about 2.5 hours (5am - 7:30am). 4 of them were longer than 10", so they are filleted and sitting in a bowl of water in my fridge. The other 7 went back to grow a little more... I was fishing from the shore, using various colored slabalicious swim bait jigs - 1/16 oz weedless head with a dark body (alternating between purple, dark red, black, and blue) and chartreuse tail. Cast out as far as I could, let it sink to the bottom, jerk a time or two, and reel in slowly - just fast enough for the lure to "swim" seems to be a good speed for the crappie.

Not a bad morning before going to the office - just wish I had taken a pic.
