Still licking my wounds from my recent poor showings at Perry, I decided to go back to attempt to put some pieces of the puzzle together. Started out fishing the main channel 17-22 FOW with mainly shorts and a couple small keepers. Area got too crowded, so I relocated. Ran around quite a bit before finding a decent bite. Dead sticking tandem jigs tight around and right above piles in 13-16 FOW worked best for me. Darker colors seemed to work better in the dingy colored water. Weedless 1/8 oz jigs also helped keep me stay in tight, and not hang up as much. Bite was somewhat slow mainly attributed to missing out on the early morning bite, but when you got bit, it was a solid 12"-13" keeper. I hope you guys get out this weekend and get on fish.
