    Default Hillsdale

Been fishing hard for several weeks and not much to show for it. Few here and there. Brought 15 home this morning. Long pole in waders fishing every stick up you can find. Black/Chartruse Bobby Garland. Lots of dinks but, at least I had a mess to clean. Heck, did a lot better about the first of march. Good fishing to ya.

Friends of mine reported the same thing. They are scattered. Lots of dinks.
Have you tried the dam? Last year they were about two weeks behind due to colder water temps in that area. I haven't gone to HD this year. Found a new honey hole in my subdivision lake.

Was out there 10-3pm, same story, lots of drinks but cleaned a dozen. Went thru a few dozen minnows, caught a ton of fish. Didn't find any shallow. All in 20 FOW suspended at about 14'. No luck on jigs.

Heading out there tonight through the weekend....I will do a crappie dance in the shallows, that will surely bring them in!

I've only been going out about an hour before sunset til about 10pm and have been limiting out using minnows on a slip bobber from shore. I'm still relatively new to jigging so I haven't been trying it too much since minnows have been working for me. If the wind cooperates Sunday I'll be out with my boat chasing crappie and walleye.

We got out on the water and started fishing around 6:30 pm and the first place we started fishing we caught 5 keepers in about 15 to 20 min. on minnows. We tried running jigs but the minnows was keeping us busy so I stopped fishing with the jigs and just used the minnows until we ran out around 10:00 pm. We ended up with 17 keepers total and probably caught 30 or better. The boat was in 6 ft of water and we fished close to the bank. All but 2 were males.
