Started out at 1 PM , too windy for crappie fishing , so we trolled for whites, wipers or walleye only catching 1 white.
Returned to my slip and caught 7 crappie with only 1 keeper so it went back in. Water temp 55 on main lake so I'm thinking the spawn will be around the 15th.
Was out at Clinton on Sat as well, it was pretty rough. Wife and I were trolling for "W" fish as well. Picked up 2 crappie on bottom bouncers. Sorry don't remember depth but was along the dam. Both were keepers but wasn't going to clean 2 fish, tossed them back.
Clinton is about an hour 20 drive for me now. Maybe ill just bank fish when the crappie spawn hits. Hopefully soon! If you guys hear od the crappie spawn starting. Please post or pm me :)!
I went today and 56-58 degrees water was the best I found and the crappie were not biting but the whites and a few nice wipers were.
