Hit CC this morning. I was a hot bite right off the bat, and cooled of dramatically when the wind switched to the SE. We caught nearly every species in that lake. Walleye, white bass, channel cats, small mouth, and of course the usual 13"+ crappie. Brother caught a 10 lb channel cat, and I lost a large fish I think was a flathead. I couldn't do much with it at all. Several large drum were also caught. No walleye met the minimum, and I expected to catch a lot more of them. Water was 64 everywhere we went. They've been catching a lot of fish there the last few days. Water temp was 64 everywhere we went.
Highlight of the day was my daughter catching her first fish by herself. We were maybe 5 minutes into the first drift and I saw her little ultralight bent over and pumping. With a little help (mainly making sure she didn't let go of the pole) and encouragement from Daddy we got the small white bass in. It may not have been big, but it was a whale to her. Ignore my bro's thumb in the pic
A smaller but very fat channel cat. Looked like it had a tennis ball in its stomach
Drum. One of several this size we caught
