    Default Clinton 9-3

Had a nice day of fishing with Slabbyjoe on Clinton yesterday, was nice to have someone to chat with as I normally fish by myself. The fish were scattered and not of the size I had been catching, we did get 22 keepers but don't think anything went over 13". All fish were on tree's and on jigs and nibbles. The water up in the arms is about as good as I've soon it this summer, should be good till we get some more strong SW wind......those silted arms stir up and get real stained pretty fast. Thanks for coming over Doug, really enjoyed spending a day on the water with you.

Thanks Charlie, we couldn't have asked for a better day (light wind & fall like temps) and you showed me a thing or two about catching crappie even though I'm older and apparently not-so-wiser, I hopefully picked up a thing or two. I really appreciate you taking me to some of your hotspots and sharing your knowledge of the lake and techniques with me and you did that without ever meeting me (yeah I know I'm lucky) and you've put into practice what this board is all about. It was fun watching you catch most of the fish and I didn't mind being the middleman between you and the live well.......yeah right.....next time maybe I'll give you a little competition.....no bettin on 1st. fish though or big fish or most fish....ok now I'm ready Great day with a stellar fisherman (I even have fish for the freezer- I hadn't cleaned a fish for months)

That hi power phone sure does take some nice pictures, the prop blade makes me chuckle every time I see it(sorta sick I know). Decided to catch up on sleep this morning, but plan on going out this evening.........going with bigger jigs and bodies, maybe that will entice a bigger bite. Hope your procedure went well and your welcome in my boat anytime.

Nice job, guys. Thanks for the report and photos. It's certainly tempting to get away from the whiskered fish and chase some slabs....for a day or two anyway How far above the water line was the prop blade?

Fished from 5-8 this evening and the fish didn't want anything to do with a 1/4 jig, went to a 16th of the same color and started catching fish. Caught a bunch of short fish and had 6 keeper(let them go), all dipping tree's. The back boat ramp at Clinton only had 2 other vehicles other than mine, love tis time of year!!

Yeah I was out at Clinton last night also but parked at the marina ramp and there was maybe 5 cars there when I put in. I was fishing for whites and caught a few surfacing but it was not fast action. Then I threw some cranks for eyes but no luck. Water looked good at the dam also.

throw those crank baits on the dam in the eve. Pull them then stop the smallies and channel cat will nail it

Thanks for the info Scotty, I have never targeted smallies at Clinton. I saw an article that read that the smallies are doing well in Clinton.

Hey Charlie I should've taken a few more pics. of some of the fish you caught but maybe next time, the cataract surgery went real well (the actual surgery only took less than 10 min......talk about a money maker!!) and I even get to wear the 'ol man bigger than your face sunglasses for a day or two Sounds like the fish are still liking the same size baits and jig....I still need to go shopping for your hot fish catching nibbles and top secret plastics Hope to get out again and enjoy this weather.
